Architecture firm IBI approached us for an installation in the lobby of their new Downtown Los Angeles office. After working with them on possible designs and materials to best represent their objective, we decided to use one of their designs that was generated using the computer software Grasshopper. MIA translated that design into a multi-layered, multi-colored relief cut-out suspended in front of an orange wall. The panels were made from 1/2″ expanded foam PVC which is solid and white throughout. The core of the material was to be painted orange where the material was cut.
