Milled Acrylic, Electroluminescent Wire

This piece consists of a single 200′ length of Electroluminescent (EL) wire inlaid into 1/2″ thick frosted Plexiglass. The EL wire sits inside a groove that was cut using a CNC Machine. 

The pattern for the groove was computer generated from a 3d model utilizing a variety of different software and translated into 2D, while still maintaining its original three dimensional appearance. This piece was produced in collaboration with Sho Ikuta and Gerardo Moreno for the Futura anniversary event.
